Renaud Delaunay and his second-in-command, Laura Mizon, are faced with a murderer who is perfectly knowledgeable about their investigative methods. It won’t be long before they discover the assassin’s identity. It is the examining magistrate, Philippe Sevran. He recently killed his wife, but it is impossible to catch him as he throws more and more red herrings their way. Delaunay is curious about this sudden rivalry between himself and the magistrate. He and Laura will have to avoid the many traps that lie along their path.
